Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America

Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America

Overview

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America (EHE). The cross-agency initiative leverages critical scientific advances in HIV prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and outbreak response by coordinating the highly successful programs, resources, and infrastructure of many HHS agencies and offices. The initiative aims to reduce new HIV infections in the U.S. by 90% by 2030. For more information you can visit the CDC website at www.cdc.gov/endhiv/index.html

Ending the HIV Epidemic

Activities

Through June 2024, we plan to deliver targeted, multidisciplinary education and training to new and experienced health care professionals to enable them to provide quality HIV care and treatment including PrEP, in the EHE Phase I jurisdictions throughout our region (e.g. Cook County, IL; Marion County, IN; Wayne County, MI; Missouri; Cuyahoga County, OH; Franklin County, OH; and Hamilton County, OH). These funds allow us to use our existing partnerships and scope of work to advance the goals of the EHE initiative, by building and strengthening the capacity of the HIV workforce in these jurisdictions.
